Empowering youths through Bode Olajumoke Youth Empowerment Foundation, BOYEF Centre.
The art of skills acquisition had been in high pursuit and demand by both the public and private sectors since decades and have been growing unabated.
From the composite pictorial view of the Foundation building, so much effort and work had been put in place to erect this elegant and modern building.
We must thank the National President of FIGSOSA, Prof Adesola Ogunniyi under whose invaluable leadership and tenure, this great achievement has been recorded.
Saturday, the 17th of February, 2024 has been scheduled for the commissioning of the Bode Olajumoke Youth Empowerment Foundation Centre, in Fiditi, by Engr. Seyi Makinde, Governor of Oyo State.
This promises to be an institution where youths from various parts of the country would gather to acquire different kinds of skills, which are aggressively sought for; be it in the technical or soft skills areas.
Luckily for all, a campus of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), tailored to make learning more accessible, is co-located in Fiditi,with BOYEF and the Fiditi Grammar School compound; a factor with many complementary benefits.
The Foundation has been named after Sen.Dr.Bode Olajumoke,who has been the longest serving National President of the National Old Students’ Association of FGS, and for his immense contributions to the development of the school.
He has been so passionate about the establishment of the Foundation and his efforts have resulted largely in the construction of the imposing building.
This event looks like the first phase of the commissioning of the project, as there is no piece of equipment installed in the Skills Acquisition Centre as of today. Could some miracle happen before the day of the Commissioning which is next Saturday,17/02/24?
This is the crux of the matter, as we all go to attend the well hyped and properly organised Platinum Celebrations.
lt thus means all hands must be on deck, for action towards the full equipment of the Centre, as soon as possible, both through internal and external fund raising, for the Centre to begin its operations in order to fulfill its mandate.
Such facilities to be provided for our future trainees in the centre, would be very likely to cost more than just a few millions of naira.
This is where there’s a clarion call to all well meaning Nigerians to come forward on or before Saturday,17/02/24 to donate generously to this worthy cause for the upliftment of our youths across all state borders in Nigeria
With the brilliant answers offered to questions the National President Prof. Adesola Ogunniyi was asked on the NTA’s Good Morning Nigeria programme, the preparations for the Fiditi Grammar School (FGS) Platinum Anniversary Celebrations seem to have reached a high pitch.
We thank Mr Sola Omole, a former DG of NTA, for getting this appropriately set up and for the assistance rendered by Alhaja Olaide Abbas, Assistant Director News at the NTA Zonal Headquarters in Lagos, towards the realisation of the objective.
Also, due credit must be given to all other members of the Anniversary Committee on Publicity and Publication, Demola Badejo Esq, Wale Adekola Esq and Ade AYENI who were at the meeting where the suggestion for the NTA interview originated from.
interestingly, most of the interviewers’ questions at the latter stage of the programme centred on our youths and their skills development and attainment.
This was inevitably, a salient reference to the budding skills acquisition edifice, the about to be commissioned Bode Olajumoke Youth Empowerment Foundation ( BOYEF) Centre
All members of the Fiditi Grammar School Old Students’ Association must be commended in rising to the occasion in contributing their quota to the realisation of this important legacy for the school.
One cannot forget how the idea of BOYEF took off at one of the meetings in Fiditi. (Please book a copy of the Platinum Anniversary Compendium to get this useful and interesting piece of information).
Finally, the Celebrations’ Anniversary Planning Committee members are highly commended for the top logistical arrangements put in place, to achieve a befitting event, ready to provide the comfortable atmosphere for this historic Launching and Commissioning pari passu-ranking, equally and without preference.
