Supreme Court affirms Usman Ododo as Kogi State Governor
In a decisive ruling, the Supreme Court of Nigeria has confirmed Usman Ahmed Ododo as the legitimately elected Governor of Kogi State.
The judgement marks the conclusion of a prolonged legal dispute initiated by Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate, who had challenged the election results.

The Chairman of Kogi State All Progressives Congress (APC) also welcomed the ruling, saying, “We are pleased with the Supreme Court’s decision, which validates our party’s success in the election.
“We are eager to continue our development agenda for Kogi State.”
On the other hand, Engr. Musa Ajaka of the SDP, while respecting the judgement, expressed his disappointment.
“Although we disagree with the outcome, we respect the Supreme Court’s ruling. Our efforts to improve Kogi State will persist through other avenues”,he stated.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court’s ruling not only solidifies Governor Ododo’s mandate, but also brings much-needed stability to Kogi State.
With the legal challenges behind him, the Governor can now focus on fulfilling his campaign promises and steering the state towards development.
