Governor Abiodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has been commended for his exemplary leadership and achievements in the past two years, particularly in human capital development and infrastructure improvements across the state.

The commendations were contained in a press release issued by Elder Ayo Arogundade, a Chartered Librarian and Public Affairs Analyst.

He described the Governor as a “home-grown gentleman” with native intelligence, who has skillfully administered the state and prioritised the welfare of its people.

Elder Arogundade highlighted the governor’s ability to communicate directly with the people, ensuring he receives first-hand feedback on the needs and concerns of Ekiti residents.

While praising Oyebanji’s accomplishments, Elder Arogundade made a heartfelt appeal on behalf of retirees from former College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti, now Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti (BOUESTI), who have been waiting for over thirty years to receive their gratuities.

He stressed the urgency of providing succour to these pensioners, many of whom have passed away without receiving their entitlements, due to unfulfilled promises by previous administrations.

“The welfare of the people has been a priority under Governor Oyebanji’s leadership. However, I appeal to His Excellency not to forget the retirees who have yet to receive their gratuities for decades,” Arogundade urged.

Additionally, the analyst called on the governor to continue pushing for the completion of the Ado-Ekiti Airport, a project he believes will further boost the state’s infrastructure and economic growth.

The governor’s administration, with its clear focus on improving the lives of the people of Ekiti, has been widely celebrated.

However, Arogundade’s plea underscores the need for sustained attention to the plight of retirees, whose long-awaited dues remain unresolved.

Governor Oyebanji is expected to take these concerns into consideration as he continues to build on his successes for the betterment of Ekiti State.
