As refund for the 2023 pilgrims is ongoing across the country, Forum of Executive Secretaries of Pilgrims Board has appealed to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria to fasttrack remitting the 2024 hajj balances to the affected states.
Deputy chairman, Forum of ES’s and Executive Chairman, Kebbi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Faruku Aliyu Yaro Enabo, made the appeal during a meeting with members of the forum and NAHCON officials in Abuja.
Alhaji Enabo said the call has become imperative as it will pave way for adequate 2025 hajj preparation.

The deputy chairman of the forum noted that pilgrims affected have been on the neck of ES’s for remittance, urging NAHCON to expedite action.
He explained that the money, if remitted to states, may likely be forwarded back to NAHCON for the 2025 hajj, insisting that due process must be strictly followed .
Some state executive secretaries, Nasarawa, Bauchi, Kogi and Niger among others who corroborated on the matter, called on NAHCON to act fast regarding the 2023 pilgrims refund.
Alhaji Enabo reassured NAHCON that all states will entrench transparency in the refund process.
