Following the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph Eribo, has instructed the immediate enforcement of the mandatory Third-Party Insurance Policy for all motor vehicles in the state.

In a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Sunday Abutu, the Commissioner urged all vehicle owners to comply with the directive.

He emphasised that Third-Party Insurance promotes road safety, provides protection for road users against liabilities arising from accidents involving insured vehicles, and offers other essential benefits.

CP Eribo warned that vehicles without valid Third-Party Insurance would be impounded, and their owners penalised in accordance with the law.

While addressing officers responsible for the enforcement, the Commissioner tasked them with maintaining professionalism, respecting citizens’ rights, and discharging their duties firmly but fairly.
