The Director General of the Waste Management Agency, Sukanmi Onipede, confirmed this to newsmen in Ado Ekiti, explaining that despite the provision of waste bins, some residents continue to dump waste on road medians and other unauthorised locations, especially in the state capital.

According to him, the Waste Management Agency under his leadership is committed to maintaining a clean Ekiti; therefore, he would not fold his arms and allow certain individuals to jeopardise this vision.

He highlighted some of the major areas of concern, including Adebayo to Bawa, Ijigbo to Ajebandele, Okeyimi, Basiri, and several other streets.

Onipede added that the task force would also closely monitor the activities of scavengers to weed out criminal elements among them.

The DG, however, appealed to the people of the state to be more vigilant and security-conscious.
