In recognition of his remarkable contributions to Nigeria’s development and dedication to advancing business diplomacy and financial management, Malam Mohammed Kabir Ilyasu has been honoured with the prestigious Fellowship of the Institute of Business Diplomacy and Financial Management (IBDFM).
The conferment ceremony, held in Abuja, was graced by distinguished professionals and academicians, including members of the Institute’s Governing Council.
The IBDFM Governing Council approved Ilyasu’s nomination after a rigorous evaluation of his academic credentials, professional achievements, and an illustrious career spanning nearly three decades in the Nigerian Foreign Service, from which he voluntarily retired in 2002.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Master’s in Public Policy.
IBDFM, a professional body endorsed by the Federal Ministry of Education, is committed to grooming world-class leaders in business diplomacy and financial management.
The Fellowship; the Institute’s highest professional membership grade, stands as a testament to Ilyasu’s exceptional career and service to the nation.
Speaking to Ebony Herald after the event, Ilyasu dedicated the honour to Nigerians, describing it as a call to greater service for the country’s progress.
“The Institute of Business Diplomacy and Financial Management has the potential to set Nigeria on a path to greatness, and I am privileged to be part of it.
“The time for more work is now. It’s crucial to contribute ideas and initiatives that will drive national development,” he stated.
