IGP redeploys Ondo Police Commissioner,  Afolabi

The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun has redeployed Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Olutokunbo Afolabi and replaced him with another Police Commissioner.

No official reason has been given for the sudden removal of the CP.

But we learnt that the IGP decision to redeploy Afolabi has nothing to do with June 12 protest by Omoyele Sowore’s group in Ondo state.

However the CP has been described as one of the best Commissioners of Police to have served in Ondo state, in terms of community policing, Fighting crimes and policemen’s welfare.

CP Afolabi ‘s sudden redeployment came as a surprise to many stakeholders.
