Fasoranti’s family named Patron of Senior Citizens Centre, advocates care for aged

In recognition of Afenifere National Leader Pa Reuben Fasoranti’s (OFR, CFR) enduring contributions to national development and his advocacy for the welfare of the aged, his family has been appointed as one of the Patrons of the National Senior Citizens Centre (NSCC) in Ondo State.
The appointment was formally confirmed in Akure during a courtesy visit by the Co-chair I of the NSCC Stakeholders Committee on Ageing, Mr Ade Ayeni, who presented the letter of conferment to the Fasoranti family at the elder statesman’s residence.

Receiving the letter on behalf of her father, Ms Olufunmilayo Fasoranti, expressed appreciation to the Federal Government-owned NSCC for what she described as a noble and well-deserved recognition.
She commended the Centre for its commitment to promoting the welfare of elderly citizens, urging government at all levels and Nigerians in general to take the well-being of senior citizens seriously.
Ms Fasoranti assured that the family would fully participate in the Centre’s activities in Ondo State.
She also appealed to the younger generation to cultivate the habit of caring for their aged parents while they are alive, instead of focusing on organising elaborate burials after their demise.
In his remarks, Mr Ayeni thanked the Fasoranti family for accepting the patronship role, describing Pa Fasoranti as a respected statesman whose influence and values align with the goals of the Centre.
He explained that the NSCC, established by the Federal Government through its headquarters in Abuja, is saddled with the responsibility of promoting the welfare, dignity, and quality of life of senior citizens across the country.
According to him, the inclusion of Pa Fasoranti as a patron in Ondo State would further strengthen the Centre’s vision of ensuring that older persons live productive and respected lives in their later years.
