He further assured their parents that all necessary measures are being taken to secure the safe return of the girls.

He gave the assurance in Maga while addressing journalists after a high-level meeting with security agencies, traditional rulers, parents of the victims, and other key stakeholders involved in the ongoing rescue efforts.

Governor Idris strongly condemned the abduction, describing the incident as extremely tragic and unacceptable.

The Governor reiterated that security operatives are working round the clock to ensure the unharmed rescue of the 25 missing schoolgirls.

The Governor further explained that his visit was aimed at conducting an on-the-spot assessment of the situation, offering comfort to the affected parents, and restoring public confidence.

“The unfortunate incident has occurred, and we came to see things for ourselves.

” We met with the parents whose children were abducted to encourage them and to assure them that we will do everything within our power to secure the safe rescue of their children,” he said.

“We have also urged them to remain hopeful, as the security agencies are fully engaged and taking all necessary steps.

“That is the essence of our visit to Maga—to stand with our people, give them courage, and renew their hope,” the Governor added.

It will be recalled that on Monday, armed bandits invaded GGCSS Maga in Danko Wasagu Local Government Area, abducted 25 schoolgirls, and killed the Vice Principal of the school.
