Cross River Government revokes Cattle Movement Permit

The government of Cross River State has revoked the cattle movement permit it once issued for the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association to allow the movement of their cattle from Ebonyi State enroute Cross River to Cameroon.
The Commissioner for Livestock, Aquaculture and Fisheries Development, Hon. Emmanuel Anom, in a statement made available to to journalists in Calabar on Sunday stated that the cancellation overrides the previously issued permit.

“The Commissioner said , on behalf of the Cross River State Government, I hereby announces the cancellation of the movement permit earlier issued to the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders for the movement of their cattle from Ebonyi State, across Cross River State, to Cameroon.
The government also stressed the need for the security agents to remain vigilant to checkmate any suspicious movement through the state.
“This cancellation supersedes the previously issued permit. All security agencies are hereby directed to be vigilant and prevent any such movement through Cross River State,” the statement added
