Okpella monarch deploys drone, hires 100 guards to tackle insecurity, denies EFCC arrest
Determined to curb rising insecurity in Estako East Local Government Area, the Okuokpellagbe of Okpella, His Royal Highness Oba Mike Sado, revealed on Thursday that he had purchased a drone and deployed over 100 security personnel across the kingdom.
The monarch also revealed plans to construct a building for the Police Area Command to further strengthen security operations in the area.
Speaking during an interaction with journalists, Oba Sado dismissed reports alleging that he was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), describing the claim as false and misleading.
He attributed the development to opposition from some individuals within the community who were dissatisfied with reforms introduced under his leadership in the last seven months.
According to him, certain persons who had previously benefitted from the sharing of community development levies were unhappy with his decision to halt the practice and ensure accountability in the use of such funds.
The royal father stated that his administration had put an end to the misuse of community resources, noting that the funds were now being channelled towards meaningful infrastructural development.
He further alleged that the petition reportedly submitted to the EFCC was a deliberate attempt to tarnish his image due to his insistence on transparency and proper utilisation of community funds.
Oba Sado added that his reforms had significantly boosted internally generated revenue in the kingdom, increasing it from N120,000 to over N8 million monthly since his ascension to the throne.
