The event also featured the unveiling of the City Boy Movement’s state secretariat by Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, who is the movement’s state patron.

Represented by his Special Adviser on Political Matters, Chief Collins Cocodia, Governor Douye Diri congratulated the new executives and charged them to mobilize for President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

In his welcome address, His Highness Osomkime Blankson, State Director General of the City Boy Movement in Bayelsa, hailed the historic turnout of men, women and teeming youths from all walks of life who came from far and near for the epoch-making inauguration.

Osomkime described it as a new dawn for Bayelsa State, saying the life-changing movement aims to transform people’s lives and urging everyone to embrace it.

According to the State DG, the City Boy Movement is not just a moment but one beyond human comprehension. He therefore commended the initiators for the innovation, which he said is now spreading across states

He explained, “The City Boy Movement stands like a bridge to fill the gap between the political class and the people. Our duty is to convey government policies and programmes to the larger Bayelsa society and Nigeria at large. What you’re witnessing here today is a movement that has come to stay.

“We are here to preach the gospel of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Our national patron, Seyi Tinubu, would have been here but, due to an emergency, he is not present. However, he is here in spirit. We want to assure you that the City Boy Movement will make all of us proud.”
The City Boy Movement is a youth-based political support group backing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reelection. National Patron Seyi Tinubu said the group has built a movement that will eventually see youths take over leadership from the older generation.

Represented by City Boy Movement Director General Hon. Francis Oluwatosin, Seyi Tinubu said he believes he was addressing future presidents, senators, House of Representatives members, and state Assembly members.

He said President Tinubu’s bold reforms are already impacting Bayelsa State, adding that the movement is building a structure for Nigeria’s future.

“Today is historic, and I want to tell you we are not going to fail Nigerians. I don’t want us to sit on the fence; I want us to be involved so that we can position more young people for a better tomorrow and a better future for Nigeria,” he stated.

Speaking on the sidelines, Sagbama Coordinator Hon. Ebikibina Akpe said the inauguration was important to establish a state working committee for President Tinubu’s reelection.

He described the president’s reelection as non-negotiable and pledged to work tirelessly to galvanise support for the president and all APC candidates in the state.
Akpe boasted that President Tinubu’s reelection in Bayelsa was a “carry go” — a certain win. He said the crowd was organic, not rented, citing the president’s recent visit and his son’s follow-up visit as proof of the state’s importance. He pledged to deliver the votes.
