Voting in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial primary concluded peacefully in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, with collation of ward results now underway at the LGA headquarters.

Speaking to journalists on Monday, May 18, at the scene, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, said the exercise recorded a large turnout of APC members and described the process as orderly and peaceful.
āVoting has taken place peacefully. Results from the ward level are being collated at the LGA headquarters,ā Lokpobiri stated.
According to the minister, collated results from Ekeremor LGA will be moved to Sagbama, the senatorial district headquarters, where they will be merged with Sagbamaās results. The partyās candidate for the Senate will be announced after the final collation.
Lokpobiri noted that Ekeremor has strong voting strength, which contributed to the high turnout of party members.
The APC had earlier directed that no election committee should conduct media briefings in their states of assignment, with all official announcements to be made in Abuja after results are submitted to the national headquarters.
The outcome of the collation in Sagbama will determine the APCās flagbearer for the Senate seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.
