A new centre for German language education and cultural exchange, Deutsch Connect Café, has officially commenced operations in Yenagoa, providing residents of Bayelsa State with valuable opportunities to study, work, and develop internationally.

Situated at AfricanTide House, Kpansia, the café offers interactive sessions from Monday to Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m., and welcomes students, professionals, educators, civil servants, and all individuals interested in Germany, including those with no prior knowledge of the German language.
More than a conventional learning space, Deutsch Connect Café offers:
German Language Practice – Develop confidence in learning and speaking basic German
Cultural Exchange – Gain insight into German culture through music, storytelling, and discussions
Global Opportunities – Access information on scholarships, exchange programmes, vocational training, and academic pathways in Germany
Interactive Engagements – Participate in games, networking sessions, quizzes, and social activities
According to the organisers, the initiative is intended to cultivate “a generation of globally connected individuals in Bayelsa State.”
The café also intends to host special sessions featuring alumni of German universities and partners of the Goethe-Institut, in addition to organising cultural events and community outreach programmes.
With growing interest among Nigerian youths in Germany due to its affordable education system and skilled migration opportunities, Deutsch Connect Café seeks to equip young people for international success within a welcoming and beginner-friendly environment.
