Pro-APC group, the Reliable Youths for Lyon, RYL, has called on delegates of the party to save Bayelsa State from the hands of bad politicians by ensuring that they vote for Chief David Lyon in the governorship primary election which comes up on Friday, April 14, 2023.
The Reliable Youths for Lyon, in a statement signed by its chairman, Honourable Kalasino Ebimobowei Titus, said only the former governor-elect, David Lyon, has what it takes to wrestle power from the ruling PDP in the state and warned selfish politicians inside the APC not to do anything that will jeopardize the party’s chances of winning the November 11 governorship election in Bayelsa.
The statement issued to newsmen on Friday by the group’s Director of Media and Publicity, Ambassador Jesse Ese, also advised Chief Timipre Sylva and other aspirants contesting against David Lyon to honourably step down in the overall interest of the party, saying that winning the governorship election is more important to the APC and its members than the ambition of one man who may become an easy-ride for the PDP if the party’s flag is given to them.
The Reliable Youths for Lyon, in the statement, said reliable information at its disposal shows that Bayelsans are tired of the PDP government in the state, but that they will rather manage the PDP than to vote for any candidate of the APC that doesn’t bear the name, David Lyon.
The group said this had made it to strengthen its campaign for the ‘David Lyon APC Governorship Ticket’ because it is more important for the APC to win Bayelsa State; than just contesting the election merely because they have a candidate for the poll.
RYL said anything apart from David Lyon gubernatorial ticket will be disastrous to the APC and will make the party an object of mockery before the PDP and well-meaning Bayelsans, warning the party not to make another mistake this time around.
Furthermore, the The Reliable Youths for Lyon urged all delegates to look inwardly and write their names with gold in the hearts of Bayelsans who are yearning for good governance by voting for Chief David Lyon in the APC governorship primaries.
