
The candidate of the Labour Party (LP) for the November 11 Gubernatorial Election in Bayelsa State, Engr Udengs Eradiri has said if elected as Governor of Bayelsa State he will complete the Nembe-Brass road in six months.

Udengs Eradiri stated this on Thursday 29th June at his campaign office in Yenagoa, while briefing Newsmen on his campaign agenda tittle “PEAP” to deal with issues bedeviling the state.

Eradiri,who was worried with the slow pace of work at the Nembe-Brass road, lambasted the Douye Diri government for playing politics with the project and wondered why will any reasonable government do such when big nations are ocean based.
He reiterated that if given the opportunity to take over the helms of leadership in the state which he said presently is in comatose he will get to Brass in six months so as to tap the blue economy to reduce pressure in Yenagoa and the people of Bayelsa State.
His word ” So we are not going to play politics with those infrastructure,in six months we would have gotten to Brass and i highlighted what I would do to get the entire young people in that area to involve in the construction activities so that we can reduce the crime in the environment and quickly get a road to Brass,from that Nembe-Brass is about 27kilometer”

Eradiri, while elaborating on his agenda People, Education, Agrculture and Power “PEAP” said it is his time to govern the state haven gone through the process of learning as well see the nakedness, neglect of politicians and politics of leaders he has decided to participate in the process to give Bayelsians directions.
The governorship hopefull who is also a one time Ijaw Youth Congress (IYC) president stressed that inspite of the trillions the state have received from allocations yet there’s nothing to show for it,hence attributed the many challenges confronting the state as lack of competent leadership.
He decried the level of development and backwardness of the state, adding that states created the same day with Bayelsa that don’t even receive one tent of what Bayelsa is receiving are far better than Bayelsa state.
He maintained that the first P and the priority agenda of his leadership is people oriented, noting that getting Bayelsa back on track will reenergize and make the people to realize that it’s their contributions that will lead to a better society.
He also talked of revamping the Education sector and making their welfare package as a key which will be enviable by other sectors, while hinting on the need of training and retraining of teachers, employment of teachers, upgrade of institutions facilities and conducive environment for accomodations for lecturers and also for learning.
He also promised to stimulate the economy of Bayelsa through Agriculture by using the microfinance bank to support small businesses to the tune of 500million every month,invest in sugarcane production, fisheries, Rice production and invest in the right chanel that will create wealth to boost the state economy.
He further mentioned that he will deal with the epileptic power situation in the state by investing in power with the procurement of 22 megawatts, adding that 11 megawatts will be dedicated to the industrial area .
