A foremost ONELGA Oil and Gas Host Communities Development Body has sent a Save-Our-Soul message to President Ahmed Bola Tinubu over alleged marginalization.
In their open letter to the press on the subject, the group said even though the people of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA produce the highest quantity of oil and gas in Nigeria with a contribution of 36.6 percent of crude oil from Rivers State, 56 of gas supply to the NLNG in Bonny, and are host to NAOC Ltd, Total Energy, NNPC E&P Ltd, NLNG, Indorama, SPDC, etc, the composition of the NDDC Board of Directors has continued not to have an indigene from the LGA as a member.
The group pointed out that the anomaly has persisted through the various administrations and pleaded with President Tinubu to correct it as they were feeling like outcasts in spite of their huge contribution to the economy of Nigeria.
The body has been fully registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission since 2018 and has the singular objective of bringing the development due ONELGANS from all arms of the government and IOCs to the people.
ONELGA is the richest oil and gas enclave in Rivers State and the highest producer of crude and gas in Nigeria from its monthly 507 oil and gas wells on unit basis, among other incontestable records.
Those who signed the document include: Engr. (Dr.) Chief Ekperi N., the chairman; Comrade Isaac Ejike Obioma, the youth president; Hon. Stanley K. Anyaladu, etc.
