A Life of Love and Legacy: Remembering Mama Adebambi Caroline Adesuyi

Late Mama Adebambi Caroline Adesuyi has been laid to rest at her home town, Ile-Oluji, Ondo State

The burial programme took place over two days, starting with a Christian Wake Keep on Thursday, February 26th, at Odo-Olu Street, Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, led by Living Ambassadors of Christ Global Ministry. This was followed by internment on Friday, February 27th, at her property in Akunleyan Street, Ile-Oluji.

Prior to the burial, a service of songs was held in Abuja on Sunday, February 15th, at her residence in Jikwoyi, FCT, in honor of the late Adebambi, allowing friends and loved ones in Abuja to pay their respects, as they celebrated her life as a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

The event brought together family members, friends and well-wishers as they paid their final respects to the deceased, who passed away on November 11, 2025, at the age of 71.

In a statement, her children described her passing as a “glorious departure” and expressed gratitude for the values she instilled in the family.

Adebambi Caroline Adesuyi was born on December 3, 1954, and her life was a testament to love, dedication, and service.

After completing her Grammar School education, she relocated to Kaduna State, where she began her career with the Nigerian Army as a Civilian in the Exchange Room.

It was in Kaduna that she met her soulmate, Adebisi Arẹmu Adesuyi, and they got married in 1979. Their love story was one for the ages, and they lived together for over four decades until his passing in 2022.

The couple, fondly known as BB (which they coined from both names – Bisi and Bambi), lived in Kaduna for over a decade before they moved to Lagos State, where she continued her work with the 82 Division of the Nigerian Army.

She retired as a Supervisor in the Exchange Room, and later relocated to Abuja in 2006 to join her husband, who had earlier been transferred to the FCT. There they lived happily with two of their grandchildren, until his demise on September 29, 2022.

BB’s life was marked by her love for her family and community. She was a devoted Christian , great wife, mother, and grandmother, and her passing on February 11, 2026, left a void in the lives of those who knew her.

Tributes poured in from neighbors, friends, and family members, who described her as a woman of peace, kindness, and generosity.

Her sisters-in-law spoke highly of her, saying she was the best wife in the family, and that she had set an example for all women to follow.

Ms. Opeyemi Martins, who spoke during the burial programme, said she has learnt a lot from her late sister-in-law, Mama Adebambi, and she advised all women to emulate her life style of patience, peace making, love, and respect for all.

Mrs. Ropo also said, “My sister-in-law was never angry” referring to Adebambi as the most respectful wife in the family.

Others who spoke about the life of BB included her brother, Mr. David Akinfiresoye, who said “aunty ‘Debambi would not speak ill of anyone,” adding that she was a very calm person.

BB’s legacy extends beyond her immediate family, as she touched the lives of everyone around her with her love, care, and compassion.

“She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on through the countless lives she impacted,” a neighbour, Mrs. Babalola, said.

One of her children, Evang. Oludele S. Adebukola said: “My mother thought me to be a godly and responsible woman, wife and mother. She did not have a separate purse despite she was a salary earner and later pensioner; she did everything together with my dad.,including eating, bathing, strolling, spending, I mean everything.”

Mr. Adeyemi Adesuyi, one of the son’s of Mama Adebambi, on behalf of the entire children of Mama Adebambi Caroline Adesuyi, expressed gratitude to family, friends and well wishers for their kind words, love and supports since the departure of Mama.

“I especially appreciate everyone from the Adesuyi’s family for being good uncles and aunties to us,” he said.

“Also, I sincerely thank my mum’s brothers – the Akinfiresoyes. Your love for our mum is not in doubt from all indications. Thank you Sirs,” he expressed.

“Thanks to our aunties, friends, and well-wishers too,” he added.

Mama Adebambi Caroline Adesuyi is survived by brothers, sisters, children (including Evang. (Mrs) Oludele Shalom Adebukola of Ebony Herald News), grandchildren and a great grandchild.

Rest in peace, Mama Adebambi Caroline – your love and legacy will never be forgotten.
