The Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, (NLC) Ekiti State Chapter,Com’d Pharm Kolapo Olatunde has urged Teaches in the Country to remain Patient and Dedicated to duties as better days are Coming ahead as their is always a light at the end of the tunnel,he said.

Com’d Pharm Kolapo disclosed this While delivering his Goodwill message at the 2023 Conference of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools, (ASUSS) held between 10th and 11th of may 2023, With a theme, “Managerial Leadership and administrative Competencies”, at the Zuma hall of the Green Minds Hotel, Utako federal Capital Territory Abuja.

Speaking further, the labour leader Commended the leadership of the union for their efforts and Commitments towards building the Capacity of Teachers for effective and efficient learning process, adding that there wouldn’t have being a better time than now for such Conference, describing it as apt and timely.
He implored Participants at the Conference to listen attentively and remain focused to the papers and lectures that Would be delivered, Saying that the Conference Promises to be enriching and thought provoking as resource and experienced persons were already on ground to do justice to the theme of the Conference.
Reacting to questions from Journalists about the welfare of workers in Ekiti State, The labour leader maintained that, the State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji has given utmost priority to Workers welfare since inception in last year, stressing that, Over five Billions of Pension arrears and gratuity of Retirees has been paid, and that the Current 40% increments of Salaries of federal workers which would be latter replicated at the State level are all testimony to Governments Commitments to workers welfare Commitments to workers welfare.
