Hon. Augie described the gesture as a strategic move to improve the operational capacity of security agencies deployed along the corridor, which he described as one of the country’s most critical economic routes.

According to him, the vehicles will enhance mobility, enable quicker responses to threats, and provide stronger deterrence against criminal activities.

He said the development reflects the Governor’s deep understanding of security realities affecting border and transit communities, noting that improved safety on the highway will promote trade, support agricultural activities, and ensure safer inter-state movement.

Hon. Augie also highlighted the Governor’s role in the successful rescue of female students abducted in Maga, Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area, noting that all the students regained freedom without injuries or loss of life.

He attributed the success to effective coordination between state and federal security agencies.

He praised families of the rescued students for their patience and resilience, and commended the bravery of security operatives involved in the mission.

According to him, the Governor personally monitored the rescue efforts, showing his commitment to safeguarding education and prioritising the welfare of schoolchildren.

The Chairman said Kebbi State is experiencing a new phase of leadership driven by security reforms and investments that are restoring public confidence.

He assured that Augie Local Government would continue supporting all state security initiatives, while mobilising traditional rulers, community leaders and youth groups to maintain peace at the grassroots.

Hon. Augie urged citizens to support the administration’s efforts and prayed for continued peace and progress across Kebbi State.
