Inspector General Of Police,IGP Alkali Baba Usman has appointed a new Assistant Inspector General Of Police,AIG Benjamin Okolo to be in charge of Zone 16 headquarters, yenagoa Bayelsa State.

AIG Benjamin Okolo is to take over from AIG Eboka Friday who recently retired meritoriously from the police force.
This was made known in a press release issued to Newsmen by the Police public Relations Officer,CSP Kevin Ikwo Lafieghe.
AIG Benjamin Okolo was Commissioned into the Nigeria Police Force as an Assistant Superintendent of Police in 1992 and holds a B.Sc(Hons) Degree in Political science from university of Nigeria, Nsukka.

The newly appointed zone 16 boss is a seasoned Officer of repute and a distinguished fellow of the Defence College.
In the course of his career as a Police Officer, the AIG has served at different capacities in all strata of the force.
Sequel to his elevation and posting to the Headquarters of Zone 16, Yenagoa, he was the immediate past Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Police Command and a one-time member of the Presidential committee on SARS Reform.
The statement further called on the full co-operation and support of the good People of Bayelsa and Rivers States to enable him bring to bear his extensive knowledge and Proven skills in policing in line with the Inspector General of Police agenda on professionalism and strategic planning.
