Celebration of Womanhood: Rawsheedah Akorede Saheed’s “The Lady Collection” to be unveiled August 16

On Saturday, August 16, 2025, Lagos will take centre stage for a vibrant literary celebration as “The Lady Collection”, a captivating five-book series that weaves together tales of love, resilience, tradition, and the enduring beauty of womanhood is unveiled.

Authored by Rawsheedah Akorede Saheed, granddaughter of the late Sheikh Yayi Akorede, former Grand Imam of Akure and President General, League of Imams and Alfas in the South West, Edo and Delta States, the series published by Lai Gidado of Ebony Herald Publishers, will be officially presented to the public tomorrow 16th August 2025.
Rawsheedah, a graduate of Estate Management from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, describes her work as “stories that uplift, inspire, and honour womanhood through faith and resilience.”
The presentation, scheduled to take place in Lagos tomorrow, will commence at 10:00 a.m., bringing together lovers of literature, advocates of women’s empowerment, and members of the public.

Told through the voices of five unique female characters; Hind, Leen, Layla, Zahrah, and Reem, each book explores different shades of love, strength, and personal growth:
The Vivacious Lady; exploring intimacy in marriage and healthy living.
The Radiant Lady; rekindling love and communication in long-term unions.
The Pining Lady; confronting illusions of romance and embracing reality.
The Enamored Lady; celebrating fearless love while honouring tradition.
The Resilient Lady; guiding women through healing, self-discovery, and emotional empowerment.
According to Saheed, each title stands independently yet threads into an overarching theme of empowering women to embrace their roles, nurture strong families, and grow spiritually.
“It is my hope that “The Lady Collection” will inspire reflection, foster dialogue, and offer practical lessons for women and men alike,” she said.
Guests at the launch will be treated to insightful readings, engaging conversations on love and resilience, and the opportunity to meet the mind behind the compelling narratives.
The event is open to the public, and the author hopes that every presence will “add even more beauty to this special occasion.”
