In light of the escalating cholera outbreak affecting various parts of Nigeria, Chairman of the Association of Table Water Producers (ATWAP) Abuja Chapter, Hon. Muhammed Okpanachi Akwuh, has issued a heartfelt plea to residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

With the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) recently declaring a public health emergency due to the spread of cholera in neighboring states, Hon. Okpanachi underscores the critical importance of maintaining rigorous hygiene standards.

His call to action urges FCT residents to prioritize cleanliness to safeguard against the potential devastation of this infectious disease.

The chairman further urged residents to remain vigilant and take precautionary measures to ensure their safety.

He advised them to wash their hands regularly and obtain their drinking water from NAFDAC-approved and licensed producers with good manufacturing practices.

He also implored residents to always keep their drinking water and food covered in a hygienic environment to avoid contamination by harmful particles.

He said that while water and food are very important for our survival as humans, we must ensure they are healthy and safe for consumption.

The ATWAP Abuja Chairman also pledged the association’s adherence to best manufacturing practices.
