Dakwa is Marginalized

The Chief of Dakwa kingdom in the Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, HRH Chief Dr. Alhaji Alhassan Musa Chukuri, has lamented the absence of government projects in his area.
Speaking recently to newsmen in his palace in Dakwa, he said: “We thank the Almighty Allah for life; many have died, many are in the hospital and many, many are hungry but we thank God we are alive and pray that God continues to help the government and all of us. Since the inception of the Ahmed Bola Tinubu administration along with that of the FCT Minister two years ago, nothing has reached us yet but we continue to be hopeful they will come.”
Chukuri, who has been on the throne for eighteen years advised his people to continue to be patient with the government and continue to support their policies as a patient person will always get his/her heart desires one day.
Areas he hopes the government will show up for the people of Dakwa include: the construction of the Madallah Junction as accidents consistently happen there due to the holdup that occur there.
“They should do it the way they did Zaria Road. Dakwa Road will pass under, Express will pass on top. There will be no problem again. Also the road from Gwagwa through Dei Dei Junction down to Dakwa should be constructed,” he solicited.
He also explained that the schools from Dei Dei down to Dakwa have dilapidated structures that need rehabilitation and urged the government to monitor the teachers to ensure they are putting in their best.
He also asked for the rehabilitation of the hospitals in the area and ensure drugs are made available for the people.
In the area of security, he asked for more police personnel to be deployed to the Dakwa area with the necessary equipment as Dakwa is very large.
“Many people working in the major towns in the FCT live in Dakwa. The area of security should be looked into,” he said adding that, “the electricity supply is very poor. We sometimes stay 3 or 4 days without light so the government should give us light.”
He concluded by asking the government to give priority to looking after the people as they are suffering while urging the people to continue to be patient with the government.
