It is said to make a sustainable impact on anybody, you must not stop at only giving him/her their needs, but also teach them how to be dependable so that they can as well make impacts on society.
This popular wise-saying is clearly evident in the life of the Secretary-general, Bayelsa State Community Development Committee Chairmen Association (BYCDCCA), Dr David Godspower Thomas.
And as it is also said, when dancing, you don’t and can’t see your back. This again is humbling and indeed refreshing on the part of the BYCDCCA scribe.
But, it is however worth asking why all these profiles about one middle aged man from the peaceful and hospitable South-South, Nigerian State called Bayelsa?
Dr David Godspower Thomas is a public, community and social servant.
He is a FELLOW with the institute of management consultant Nigeria ( ICMC),and a FELLOW of the institute of professional entreprenuer and strategic administration (FIPESA) where he was certified as a management specialist (CMS) with Distinction in Time management as well as having had an advanced certificate in LEADERSHIP MANAGEMENT from the London Graduate School UK.
Another yet to explore part of Dr David Godspower Thomas by onlookers is his motivational speaking prowess and philantropism.
These and many more attributes and societal impacts of Dr Thomas have endeared him to both local and international institutions for various academic awards in the form of honourary degrees, even as he has recently bagged an academic Doctor of Science(Ph.d) degree in Health Policies and Leadership from the GEOFIDEL Institute for Leadership and Management, United Kingdom and the STRATFORD University, USA.
The man, Dr David Thomas recently made the headlines in many publications as he also bagged a DOCTOR OF SCIENCE IN HEALTH SCIENCES (Honourary Causa) from the COMMONWEALTH UNIVERSITY COLLEGE, also in the United Kingdom via the DIVISION OF ECOLE SUPERIEURE UNIVERSITAIRE BENIN REPUBLIC, just a few weeks ago in May, 2023.
These achievements, honours and above all, his vow to continually make life meaningful to those he would come in contact with in his life journey within his available limited endowments and economic muscles indeed marks him out as one of the few special people in his generation.
Speaking with Newsmen who recently spoke with him on his numerous academic achievements and societal impacts, Dr Thomas who is also the Chief Executive Officer/ Managing Director, MPACS Ltd, said:
“These awards would spur me to contribute more to societal development. I’ll be contributing mostly in making greater impacts in my journey on earth, but most importantly, the additional knowledge I’ve gained would be translated into the development of my state, Bayelsa and my nation Nigeria in any ramifications I’m needed to render services for national development.”
Dr David Godspower Thomas is from Swali Community of Yenagoa Local Government Area of the Bayelsa state, he is married with Children.
