To the glory of Almighty Allah. The entire Alake Salami family of Akure announced the passing of our Martriach, Mama Rabiat Omorinsola Salami, wife of the first indigenous Chief Imam of Akure Kingdom, Late Sheikh AbdulSalam Alake aged 94 years
According to an announcement by Mama’s daughter Dr. Mrs. Munirat Ogunlayi, Mama answered the call of Almighty Allah peacefully in the early hour of Tuesday 20th January, in her home at Alagbaka GRA, Akure.

“We announce the passing of a Virtuous Woman and a Community leader, Late Mama Rabiat Salami, Mother of a foremost Muslim women leader in Ondo State and an International Development Expert currently with the World Bank, who doubles as the Iya Sunnah of Akure Muslim Community, Alhaja ( Dr) Mrs. Munirat Ogunlayi,” the announcement partly read.
“The Janazah prayer in honour of Late Mama Rabiat Salami would be held by 4:00 PM prompt today Tuesday January 20th at the Central Mosque, Oja Oba, Akure, Ondo State, before moving her body to her final resting place at the Golden Garden and Vaults Cemetery, KM 11, Olokuta, Ondo Road, Akure.
May Allah Count her amongst his chosen ones and pardon her misdeeds while on earth.
