EFCC Arrests 25 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Benin City

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has announced the arrest of 25 internet fraudsters, at different locations in Benin City, Edo State.
The operatives of the Benin Zonal Directorate of the commission made this known on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.
The suspects were said to have been arrested based on credible intelligence on their alleged involvement in internet related fraud.

This is even as Nigerians on social media are commending the efforts of the anti-graft agency in clamping down on cyber crime offenders, and wish that other Nigerians, including political office holders found guilty of financial offences and corruption, would be arrested, investigated, announced, and brought to book without any delay.
Items recovered from the suspects include eight exotic cars, laptops and phones.
The commission said they will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
