It was yet another day for the demonstration of sacrifice and commitment towards the uplifting of the works of Almighty Allah as Muslim faithfuls from North West Nigeria particularly, those from the Noble Zazzua Emirate Council Converged on the Federal Capital Territory,(FCT) for the official launching of the Mallam Abdulkarim Zaria City Mosque reconstruction appeal fund, Ebony Herald international Magazine has learnt.

The Atiku Abubakar auditorium of the Shehu Musa Ya’adua Centre where the event was held was thronged by prominent Sons and Daughters of the Zazzua Emirate and the entire Northern Nigeria.

Some of the dignitaries amongst others who were conspicuously present were, Sen, Uba Sani, the executive Governor of Kaduna State, former Vice President, His Exellency Namadi Sambo, jHis Eminence Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III,CFR, Mni, His Highness ,Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli CFR LLD, the Emir of Zazzua Emirate, Mallam Nasiri El-rufai immediate past Governor of Kaduna State and Hon. Hardi Sirika immediate past Minister for Aviation.
The Chairman of the occasion, His Excellency, Namadi Sambo in his opening Speech, remarked that, the Mallam Abdulkarim Mosque has been a Cornerstone of their Community’s identity, a beacon of faith, knowledge and Culture in the heart of Zaria, dating back to its founding in the early 19 Century.
He further pointed out that, their commitment in preserving their heritage and honoring their long age tradition also informed the decision for the reconstruction of the Mosque, inspite of the fact that the spirit of the Mosque remained unbroken, the physical structure requires immediate attention.

The former Vice President also stressed that, the tragedy that occurred on a Friday prayer session, which led to the death of some worshipers and others who sustained various degree of injuries also called for the reconstruction of the Mosque, adding that the appeal was not just an event, but a declaration of their unwavering commitment to the preservation and rejuvenation of a cherished institution with the rich history spanning about two Century.
In his homily, His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar lll, commended all the invited guests for honoring the invitation for the appeal fund.
He particularly hailed Abdulsamad Rabiu, the founder/Chairman BUA Cement for always yielding to calls and demand of the Muslim in the Country, even as he Charged all the Muslim present to donates generously for the construction.
The founder/ Chairman BUA Cement, who is also the Chief Launcher, pledged his unwavering commitment and readiness to always answer to the call of the Muslim and all other groups in the Country whenever he is called upon, adding that he would ever remain enthusiastic to give back to the society that has done much for him and urged Co-fund raisers to be generous in their donations.
Also speaking, the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Sen. Uba Sani who is the Chief host at the Ceremony, described the Mallam Abdulkarim Mosque Zaria as one of the monuments in the Country that must be preserved, and as for them, the indigenes of Zazzua Emirate, the Mosque represents their collective identity.
He called on all the sons and daughters of the Emirate to contribute generously for the reconstruction of the Mosque.
The appeal fund ceremony was attended by many from all walks of life, while the attendees demonstrated enthusiasm towards the fund raising.
