Fear, as Okada rider killed, dumped inside Well in Ondo

Residents of Ore, in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, have been thrown into panic following the gruesome murder of a commercial motorcyclist whose corpse was found dumped in a well behind the town’s stadium along Okitipupa Road.
The deceased, identified as Isah Ibrahim, was said to have been attacked by yet-to-be-identified assailants who also made away with his red Bajaj motorcycle. His remains, later recovered from the well, have left the community in shock and fear.
Eyewitnesses said the deceased had conveyed a passenger to the area before he was ambushed.

The attackers allegedly killed him and dumped his body in the well in a bid to cover their tracks.
“The motive behind the killing is not yet clear, but it is strongly suspected to be a case of motorcycle snatching, which has become rampant in Ore and its environs,” a community source told reporters.
Confirming the incident, a security source said detectives have begun a manhunt for the perpetrators, adding that efforts are underway to curb the surge in violent crimes targeting motorcyclists in the area.
The development has triggered widespread anxiety among commercial motorcyclists in Ore, many of whom decried the rising wave of attacks on their colleagues while on duty.
They called on security agencies to intensify patrols and ensure those behind the murder are brought to justice.
As at press time, Ibrahim’s killing has deepened fears within the community, with residents urging authorities to take urgent and decisive measures to safeguard lives and property.
