The Permanent Secretary, Kebbi State Ministry of Livestock Development and Fisheries, Hajiya Ramatu Usman Dabai, has presented Certificates of Return to the re-affirmed executive council of the Kebbi State chapter of the Fishermen Association.
The presentation took place on Friday in Birnin Kebbi.
Congratulating the executives, Hajiya Dabai said the association occupies a strategic position in the socio-economic development of the state, particularly in advancing the fisheries sub-sector.
She urged the council to remain united and continue to support government policies and programmes aimed at improving livelihoods and boosting food production.

The Permanent Secretary also disclosed that the association’s request for the engagement of its members during the Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival would be forwarded to the appropriate authority for consideration.
Earlier, the Chairman of the association, Alhaji Sani Tunga Bunza, expressed appreciation to the Permanent Secretary and officials of the ministry for their support, which he said contributed to the successful re-affirmation of the executive council.
He noted that the presentation of the certificates was a clear indication of the ministry’s confidence in the leadership of the association, and assured that members would continue to support the present administration in its drive for sustainable development.
He further appealed for the involvement of fishermen in the 2026 Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival.
