Former Ondo Guber Candidate, Bamidele Akingboye, Dies in Lagos.
Otunba Bamidele Akingboye aka OBA the former Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate in the 2024 Ondo State election, is dead.
Akingboye died on Wednesday at his residence in Victoria Garden City (VGC), Lagos, according to a statement issued by his media aide, Oyeniyi Iwakun.
Until his death, Akingboye was the Chief Executive Officer of Benshore Maritime and Clog Oil Systems, as well as President of WeAfrica Group.
He also held the traditional title of Olowomeye I of Ikaleland.
Described as an accomplished businessman, philanthropist and community leader, Akingboye was a major political figure in Ondo State where he contested the 2024 governorship election under the platform of the SDP.
He is survived by his wives, children, grandchildren and siblings.
The family said details of his burial arrangements will be announced later
