It was a moment of gathering for the purpose of carrying out an all-important task of rebuilding a place of worship, a gesture that will undoubtedly, give honour and glory to the Almighty Allah.
Therefore, Saturday 14th October, 2023, witnessed the official launching of the Mallam Abdulkarim Mosque Zaria City Reconstruction Appeal Fund.
The one hundred and thirty-eight years old Mosque was built in 1885 during the reign of Malam Abdulkarim as Emir of Zazzau. In August this year, a part of the Mosque caved in, killing some worshippers and injuring many.
Today’s hugely successful Appeal Fund Launching attracted top political leaders, traditional and religious leaders, government officials, business tycoons, eminent sons and daughters of the Zazzau Emirate, and well-wishers of the Zazzau Emir.
Special appreciation goes to the Chief Launcher, Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu (Chairman, BUA Group) for donating the sum of N2billion and also mobilizing his friends to donate over N1billion to this project.
Also, among those appreciated were; the Chairman of the Occasion, former Vice President of Nigeria, H.E. Arc. Namadi Sambo GCON for being instrumental in leading the entire project committee, and the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, CFR, Mni, for his contribution and leadership.
Also an appreciation goes to the following personalities for their distinguished presence at the Appeal Fund Launching and their generous donations: former Governor of Kaduna State, H.E. Mal. Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, the Emir of Zazzau, His Highness Amb. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli and former Governor of Kaduna State, H.E. Ramalan Yero.
Others are; former Governor of Niger State, H.E. Babangida Aliyu, Alh. Dahiru Mangal (Chairman, Mangal Group), Hon. Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed Dangiwa, the Etsu Nupe, His Royal Highness Admiral A.Z Gambo (Rtd), DG NIMASA, Mal. Bashir Jamoh, other sons and daughters of Zazzau Emirate and well-wishers from across the world.
It’s laudable project for the entire Muslim especially northerners in remembering it’s momentum
