– Video evidence showed the musician standing in front of the aircraft and attempting to obstruct its movement, despite officials’ pleas to step away.

– The NCAA described the incident as a serious safety threat, emphasising that both Kwam 1 and the pilots breached standard safety protocols.

Consequences:

– The NCAA has suspended the licenses of the ValueJet pilots involved in the incident pending a full investigation.

– Kwam 1 has been placed on a no-fly list for six months, applicable to both domestic and international flights.

– The NCAA has also reached out to the Attorney General of the Federation and the Inspector General of Police to initiate legal proceedings against the musician.

Minister’s Stance:

Aviation & Aerospace Development Minister, Festus Keyamo, emphasised that justice must be balanced, hence the directive for equivalent action against the offending passenger. “I will not sit idly by and allow this to pass”, he warned, hinting at potential further sanctions.
