Jegede Dynasty announces burial plans for Matriarch, Chief Mrs Rachael Olaribiwa Amoke Jegede

The Jegede family of Odo-Ayedun, Ekiti State, has formally announced the funeral arrangements for their matriarch, Chief Mrs Rachael Olaribiwa Amoke Jegede, who passed away at the age of 87.

A devout Christian, respected community leader, and revered family pillar, Chief Mrs Jegede was the Asalu of Odolaso, Odo-Ayedun-Ekiti, and also held the esteemed position of Asiwaju Obinrin of the Ijo Methodist Church, Ayedun Diocese.

According to the family’s schedule of events, funeral rites will commence on Thursday, July 3, 2025, with the departure of her remains from Bell Funeral Home, Ilokun, Ado-Ekiti, to her residence at Pa Michael Adebayo Jegede’s Compound, Aafin Olokutun, Odolase Street, Odo-Ayedun, in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

On Friday, July 4, a lying-in-state and Christian wake will be held at her residence, beginning at 5:00 p.m., to be followed by a commendation service and Artists’ Night in tribute to her legacy.

The final funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, July 5, at the Sir Remi Omotosho Memorial Methodist Church, Cathedral of His Glory, Odo-Ayedun, by 10:00 a.m.

Interment will take place at her residence immediately after the service, followed by a reception at the Methodist Church Event Centre.

The Jegede family also extends an open invitation to friends, associates, and well-wishers to join them in honouring the life and memory of their beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
