Pensioners to begin nationwide protest today over unpaid N32,000 increment, palliatives

Pensioners across the country, will today, Monday, 16th of June, 2025, stage a nationwide protest to demand the payment of their outstanding entitlements.

The protest notice was contained in a statement issued by Chairman, Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP), NIPOST Lagos, Comrade Mukaila Ogunbote.

According to the statement, the demonstration will hold simultaneously at the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) office at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island, Lagos, in Abuja, and across other states.

According to the organisers, the protest is to press home their demands for the payment of the ₦32,000 pension increment which has been pending since July 2024, the ₦25,000 palliative promised since April 2024, and the resolution of other related issues.

The protesters vowed to sustain the demonstration until they receive the payment alerts for their outstanding entitlements.

“Please pass this information to others,” the statement urged.
