League of Imam and Alfas, NSCIA, CAN Others bid Imam Aladesawe farewell. By Abibu Shehu Ibrahim 

The remains of the late Chief Imam of Owo and Chairman, League of Imams and Alfas, Ondo state, Alhaji Ahmad Aladesawe have been buried according to Islamic rites in Owo.

The President, League of Imams and Alfas, Yorubaland, Edo& Delta State, Shaykh Jamihu Kewulere led hundreds of Islamic faithful from across the Southwest Nigeria to observe the Janazah prayer on the body of the late Chief Imam of Owo.

The President -General who doubles as the Chief Imam of Ado Ekiti, described late Alhaji Aladesawe as the rallying point of the Southwest Muslim Leaders.

He said the league of Imams in Yorubaland will miss the late Chief Imam in view of his outstanding contributions to Islam in the region.

Representatives of Shaykh Habibullah Adam Al-Ilory from Lagos state, Chief Imam of Ibadan, Chief Imam of Oshogbo and others eulogised late Aladesawe as they prayed Allah to forgive his shortcomings.

In his lecture, the Grand Mufti of Ondo state, Shaykh Sirajudeen Al-Batuta cautioned against any act that is capable of truncating the good legacies left Behind by Shaykh Aladesawe

He described the late Chief Imam as a bold, Courageous and bridge-builder during his lifetime.

Other guests include the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Dr Olayjde Adelami who led State government delegation, Chief Imam of Akure , Shaykh Abdulhakeem Yayi Akorede, Chief Imam Ondo, Shaykh Bashir Alimi, Chief Imam of Supare -Akoko who doubles as Secretary -General, league Imams and Alfas,Ondo state as well as other Chief Imams and Islamic leaders from Ondo state and beyond.

The Christian Association of Nigeria, C.A.N also sent delegation to pay its last respect to the late Chief Imam
