President Bola Tinubu has called on leaders to discharge their responsibilities with humility while in a position of authority.
Tinubu made the call on Friday while commissioning the National Assembly Jumu’at Mosque built by the Muslim Ummah in Abuja.
Represented by the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, advised people to be mindful of the transient nature of life and urged them to be kind to humanity and live a worthy of emulation.
He urged people to seek the hereafter through charity to the less privileged and legacy projects.
He commended all the people involved in many ways towards the completion of the Mosque project.
Contributing, the Chairman National Assembly Mosque Project Management Committee, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau said a total sum of 570 million was realized from the contribution from lawmakers to build the magnificent State-of-the-Art edifice.
In his remarks, the President of the Senate, Ahmed LAWAN said each Muslim Senator contributed 400,000 naira monthly while members of the House of Representatives contributed two hundred and fifty thousand naira per month till the project was completed.
Speaking in the same vein, the Speaker House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila said, the building of the Mosque was a sacrifice in seeking the reward and Favour of Almighty Allah.
