Okada Rider Kills Assistant Commissioner Of Police In Calabar

ACP (Barr) Vivian Chinemerem Aworonye An Assistant Commissioner of Police attached to Zone 6 Police Headquarters Calabar, has been killed by a commercial motorcyclist in Calabar, Cross River State
.
A source informed us, that the senior Police Officer had no accommodation and she was staying within Zone 6 in one of the offices.

As she was about crossing from Zone 6 to the other side of the road at about 6:30 PM an Okada rider hit her at the weekend.

She fell on her head and was rushed to Bakor Hospital, a private facility located around the Headquarters, Zone 6 Command of the Nigerian Police Force, from where she was referred to the Psychiatrist Hospital, considering the head injury but later passed on at the Teaching Hospital.

Barrister, Vivian Chinemerem Aworonye was recently transferred from the Force Legal Department, Abuja.

Meanwhile, the Zone 6 Police Headquarters, Calabar has announced the untimely death of ACP (Barr) Vivian Chinemerem Aworonye who until her death was the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Department of Finance and Administration.

In a short message by the Zone 6 Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nelson Okpai, said “A condolence register has been opened at the Zone 6 Headquarters. May her gentle soul rest in peace.”

The motorcyclist has been taken into police custody.

The tragic incident was on the heels of a statement from the State Government earlier in the week, reiterating the ban on the use of motorcycles within the Calabar metropolis
