President Tinubu and FEC Scrap Niger Delta, Sports Development Ministries.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Federal Executive Council have announced the scrapping of both the Niger Delta Ministry and the Ministry of Sports Development.

A new Ministry of Regional Development will be established to oversee all regional development commissions, including the Niger Delta Development Commission, North West Development Commission, South West Development Commission, and North East Development Commission.

Meanwhile, the National Sports Commission will assume the responsibilities previously held by the Ministry of Sports.

Additionally, the FEC has approved the merger of the Ministry of Tourism with the Ministry of Culture and Creative Economy as a single entity.

These decisions were made during today’s Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja.
