President Tinubu Meets Northern PDP Senators To Address Critical Issues

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu held a strategic meeting on Wednesday with three influential northern Senators from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The session brought together Senators Adamu Aliero (Kebbi Central), Yahaya Abdullahi former Senate Majority leader (Kebbi North), and Garba Musa Maidoki (Kebbi South) to address critical challenges facing Kebbi State and the broader northern region.
During the meeting, the Lawmakers highlighted urgent issues within their constituencies, emphasizing escalating insecurity, crumbling road networks, and persistent power outages resulting from damaged electricity transmission lines.

They pressed for swift federal intervention, as the prolonged power disruptions and security challenges continue to impact the lives of countless citizens in northern Nigeria. While the Tinubu administration has promised support, the senators urged immediate action to alleviate their constituents’ hardships.
The Senators also underscored the devastating impact of recent floods in the region, which displaced numerous residents and damaged homes. They advocated for federal support to build irrigation infrastructure—such as canals and waterways—that could redirect floodwaters towards agricultural use, thus bolstering food security and providing long-term flood resilience.
Expressing solidarity with victims of banditry, terrorism, and other criminal acts, the Lawmakers pledged to work closely with the federal government to combat security and humanitarian issues across the North.
In response to speculation about potential defections, the senators reaffirmed their loyalty to the PDP, clarifying that no discussions of party-switching took place during the meeting.
The meeting underscored a shared dedication to addressing the urgent needs of northern communities, as the senators continue to seek collaborative solutions to improve security, infrastructure, and economic resilience in their constituencies.
The Senators conveyed their gratitude to President Tinubu for his warm reception and stressed their commitment to working towards sustainable solutions for the region.
