PSC Promotes 56 Senior Officers To AIGs, CPs, Others

The Police Service Commission, PSC, has approved the promotion of 56 senior officers comprising of 20 Commissioners of Police (CPs), 19 Deputy Commissioners (DCPs), 13 Superintendents (SPs), and 14 Deputy Superintendents (DSPs).
This was made known in a statement on Monday, in Abuja, by the PSC’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Mr. Ikechukwu Ani.

According to Ani, the CPs have been promoted to Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), while the DCPs have been elevated to CP.
Furthermore, the SPs have been moved to Chief Superintendents (CSPs), and DSPs were promoted to SPs.
The newly promoted AIGs include Fasuba Olabode, Musibau Ajani, Aliyu Musa, Patrick Atayero, Gyogon Grimah, Olaiya Mobolaji, and Chukwudi Ariekpere.
Others are Abubakar Aliyu, Olalolu Adegbite, Godwin Eze, Disu Olatunji, Alausa Tolani, Kareem Musa, Mohammed Dalijan, and Dan-Mamman Shawulu.
Also promoted were Clement Robert, Musa Mohammed, Thomas Nabhoni, Abel Miri Zwalchir, and Ifeanyi Uka.
The DCPs promoted to CPs include Usman Tahir, Sunday Okoebor, Ayodeji Faniyan, Saka Ajao, Omole Ola, Hope Okafor, and Ajo Ordue.
Olufunke Adeayo, Stephen Ogedengbe, Iyabode Agbaminoja, Adebowale Lawal, Ojo Adekimi, and Yemi Oyeniyi were also DCPs now elevated to CPs.
Additional names are Obasi Okereke, Moses Ottah, Felix Nnebue, Gazali Abdul-Salaam, Fidelis Ogarabe, and Olubode Ojajuni.
Ani stated that all promoted officers, including the 13 SPs and 14 DSPs, appeared before the commission and underwent examination and an interactive interview.
The chairman of the Commission, Mr Hashimu Argungu, presided over the promotion exercise, supported by other commission members.
