Pundits predict tight US election

Pundits predicting a razor-thin margin in the upcoming US election are spot on.

Abeni Aso-Oke

The key word here is “insanely,” a term I’ve chosen deliberately for this article.

Contrary to Donald Trump’s projections, my own prediction and polling reveal a starkly different outcome, just 19 days before the election.

Based on the enthusiasm gap I’ve observed between the supporters of Trump and Kamala, I can categorically say that Donald Trump is going to lose “bigly,” to use his own language.

Abeni Aso-Oke

Trump is the closest orator to Nigeria’s bombastic politician, Patrick Obahiagbon of Edo State, who can speak for an hour with listeners leaving in total disgust because nobody can understand or interpret what he’s saying. Donald Trump is Patrick Obahiagbon on steroids.

I know many immigrants from Haiti, who are falsely accused by Trump of eating their neighbours’ dogs and cats in Springfield, Ohio.

All of them speak better English than Trump, whose grasp of the English language is so poor that I sometimes wonder how he managed to get elected in 2016, especially when he ran against Hillary Clinton, a Yale graduate who speaks with the eloquence of the late Barbara Jordan or the clarity of Oprah Winfrey or Maya Angelou.

Those defamed immigrants, whose “lingua franca” is French, all speak better English than Trump, if you see what I see.

Donald Trump is already smelling defeat. All he is doing now is proactively searching for excuses to explain his loss and to justify disputing the election results.

He plans to go to court and appeal to the Supreme Court, hoping the 6 Republican-appointed judges, outnumbering the 3 liberal ones, will somehow rule in his favour when push comes to shove on November 5.

But this strategy is going to fail miserably because Marc Elias, the DNC attorney, is more than ready to neutralise Trump and defeat him every step of the way, just as he did in 2020 in over 60 court cases across the country.

That is my prediction, and I stand by it.

The outcome of the election will not be close at all. Republican hardliners like Marjorie Taylor Greene, Ted Cruz, and the gubernatorial candidate of North Carolina, Mark Robinson, will be torpedoed on election night if my polling is accurate.

You can also expect Representative Ruben Gallego to pull off an upset in Arizona.

The bandwagon effect that Donald Trump is trying to create by projecting the illusion of a last-minute victory will fizzle out.

I can assure you, his calculations will amount to nothing this time around.

Donald Trump will continue to act like Adolf Hitler on steroids, much to his own embarrassment and shame, as voters deliver a resounding victory to Kamala Harris and Tim Walz on a platter of gold, 19 days from today.

Trump has described January 6 as a “Day of Love,” in an attempt to convince American voters of a reality that we all witnessed with our own eyes on television, including the noose pillar set up near the Capitol to hang his Vice President, Mike Pence, on his orders, and the desperate attempt by his foot soldiers, the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers, to murder Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez, and many others, including more than 140 law enforcement officers who were wounded, and over five police officers who were killed while defending the very heart of democracy.

A delusional and pathological liar, Donald Trump now calls what we all saw a “Love Fest” or a joyful picnic in a summer camp.

Come on. Give me a break.

He is going to lose, and lose in a landslide on November 5.

Mark my words.

I rest my case.
