High Chief Seyeifa Koroye has emerged the new Pere (King) of Tarakiri Kingdom of Bayelsa State.

In a keenly contested election, he polled a total of 63 votes to beat his closest co-contender, King Famous Esdowo of Angalabiri community.

Earlier, the Election Committee Chairman, Chief Ayakeme Whiyke said Chief Famous Esdowo scored a total of 29 votes, to clinch the second position.

He further stated that Chief Keme Prefa pulled out of the contest, when the first ballot could not produce a clear winner.

The Pere of Tarakiri Kingdom is a native of Toru Oruaa in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
