UCC Chairman Celebrates Award-Winning Members

Chairman of the United Correspondents Chapel, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Bayelsa State Council, Prince Amgbare Ekaunkumo, has commended two of its members for their outstanding achievements at the Bayelsa Media Network Awards in 2025.

The event which took place at the Ernest Ikoli Press Centre, Ekeki Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, on December 26, 2025, saw to the award of its two recipients.

Speaking at a reception organised in honour of the duo, at the Chapel Secretariat in Ekeki, Yenagoa, Amgbare appreciated God and congratulated Mr. Chris Mark of Ebony Herald International Magazine, who emerged as Best Reporter (Print), and Grey Daukoru of Plus TV, for the Best Reporter on Health respectively.

He praised them for their well-deserved recognition, and highlighting their inclusive and impactful reporting on societal ills that have contributed significantly to public awareness and progress.

The UCC Chairman expressed gratitude to the organizers of the Bayelsa Media Network award for founding the duo of the Chapel members worthy of the recognition.

The chairman described the awards as a testament to the dedication and professionalism of the recipients, urging other members to emulate their commitment to the ethics of the journalism profession.

The Chairman urged the recipients to keep the flag flying and work harder to attract more laurels to the Chapel.
