It is with a heavy heart that the EQUITY BAR announces the glorious exit of its illustrious member, I.K. Sanusi, SAN, who passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024, following an illness.

Until his demise, Learned Silk I.K. Sanusi, was a distinguished and accomplished legal practitioner of immense worth and integrity. His life’s career was marked with uncommon legacies of humility, honesty, philanthropism, and profound faith, with a true fear of Allah that he stood for while alive and until the very end.

The revered SAN made his mark on the legal profession and the EQUITY BAR, being the first legal practitioner from Kebbi State Ministry of Justice to attain and be conferred with the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria in December 2012. He was a seasoned prosecutor who rose from State Counsel to Director of Public Prosecutions of Kebbi State. Later, he was appointed Permanent Secretary of Kebbi State Ministry of Environment before transitioning into private practice as the Principal Partner of I.K. SANUSI (SAN) & CO., a position he held until his demise.

I.K. Sanusi, SAN, left an indelible footprint in the minds of all people whose lives he touched positively and in the sands of time. As we grieve, let us reflect on and emulate his life lessons and qualities as a torchbearer, pathfinder, and unifier. His legacies will forever remain in our memories, remembered for his good reference points.

We pray Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, accept all his good deeds as acts of Ibadah, and repose his gentle soul in Jannatul Fiddaus. The EQUITY BAR extends its deepest sympathies and condolences to the late Silk’s beloved family, the entire legal community, and the people of Kebbi State.
