ONDO DECIDES 2024: Across Ondo State on Election day.

Voting commenced peacefully across the 18 local government of Ondo State as early as scheduled, INEC officials arrived at the polling units with election materials promptly

The Governor of Ondo State Lucky Aiyedatiwa who is also the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) voted at Polling Unit 5 in Ugbo Ward, 4 Obenla community, in Ilaje Local Government Area at about 8:50 am.

After voting, the Governor commended the peaceful conduct of the election and praised the strong voter turnout. He expressed confidence in his chances of winning the election.
“In my community, it is peaceful and turnout is very, very encouraging. And I want to believe that the same situation would be at other locations across the state. It’s peaceful here,” he said

In Owo local government, the state deputy governor, Dr Olayide Adelami, voted at his Igboroko 2, Ward 3 Unit 16
at about 9:40am, Dr Adelami joined a queue of voters waiting to be accredited and thereafter was in line alongside members of his immediate family to cast his vote.

Speaking with newsmen after exercising his civic duty, the deputy governor asked residents of Owo and the people of the state to come out to vote.
“Your vote is your power. I urge you all to come out to vote. In so doing, you will be contributing to the promotion of good governance and a greater Ondo state” he charged.
In Akure the State Capital the Honourable Commissioner for Physical planning, Hon Gbenga Olaniyi voted at his unit 11 Obanla/ Ijomu ward 4 at 9am.

He commended the peaceful conduct of the election, and praised the INEC officials and all the party agents for the peaceful conduct of the election across the state capital.

Ondo State AG, Dr Kayode Ajulo, SAN, OON voted at his Ifira Akoko, Akoko South East Local Government polling Unit 002 with his 90th years old mother, Iya-Ijo C. M. Ajulo, the Honourable Commissioner was spotted carrying his mother and another old woman across the slippery ground, Ajulo applauded Ifira Akoko people for coming out in large numbers
