INSECURITY: EKITI GOVERNMENT LAUNCHES REFLECTIVE JACKETS FOR COMMERCIAL MOTORCYCLISTS


Ekiti State Government has launched distribution of reflective jackets for commercial Motorcyclists across the sixteen Local Governments in the State for proper identification and Security purpose.
Speaking at the unveiling and handing over of the jackets to the leadership of the Commercial Motorcyclists, the State Commissioner for Transportation, Pastor Kehinde Ajobiewe explained that the purpose of the reflective jackets is to recognize genuine Commercial Motorcyclists and enable security agents to fish out those perpetrating evil with motorcycles.
Pastor Ajobiewe directed all commercial motorcyclists to get the reflective jackets, saying anyone operating without it would be arrested and seen as saboteur to the development of the State.

According to him, the step will also create room to identify authentic commercial motorcyclists due to the code inscribed on the jackets and check illegal influx of people hiding under commercial motorcyclists to commit crime.
Also speaking, the Chairman, Ekiti State board of Internal Revenue Service, Pastor Olaniran Olatona appealed to Commercial Motorcyclists to stop disobeying traffic rules and urged them to key into the State insurance policy.
At the Occasion, the Commandant of FRSC in Ekiti State, Mr Olusola Joseph said the initiative would reduce criminal activities and commended Government for the good step.
In his remark, Chairman Commercial Motorcyclists, Ekiti State Chapter, Mr Kunle Asaolu promised that all commercial motorcyclists would get the reflective jackets to achieve the purpose of which it was made for.
