RUGIPO Alumni Association holds 2025 national elections in Owo

The much-anticipated national election of the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic (RUGIPO) Alumni Association is holding today, Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the institution’s main campus in Owo, Ondo State.

Delegates from across the country have converged on the Adekunle Ajayi Auditorium, the designated venue for the election, to choose new national officers who will pilot the affairs of the association for the next administrative term.

Positions being contested include the National President, Vice President, Secretary, Financial Secretary, Treasurer, and other key executive roles.

In a circular released by the Electoral Committee of the association and e-signed by the Committee Chairman, Comrade Ibikunle O. Kunle, and the Secretary, CSP Olufemi Adeyemi, the list of successfully screened candidates for the respective offices was made public.

According the election Committee, list of cleared candidates for the 2025 elections include;

1. Adesina Adeola Victor – National President

2. Adeyefa Bankole – National Vice President

3. Oluyade Ademola – National Secretary

4. Oniye Felix I. – National Financial Secretary

5. Adeleye Raymond – National Treasurer

6. Abubakar Otunba Omoluabi – National Director of Organisations

7. Adekanmi Ademola – National Chief Whip

8. Asulewon Samuel – National Public Relations Officer

9. Omoye Adeola Monisola – National Assistant General Secretary

10. Arowolo Jumole – National Auditor 1

11. Oniye Adegboye Yemi – National Auditor 2

The Electoral Committee also reminded all delegates and voters to come along with any valid, nationally recognised means of identification for proper accreditation and verification before voting begins.

The election will follow an “open-secret” ballot system, where the names of candidates are written against the positions they seek.

The committee expressed appreciation to all members for their cooperation and reaffirmed its commitment to a transparent, free, and fair electoral process.
