Owo Muslim Community announces final Fidau prayer for late Chief Imam, Sheikh Ahmad Aladesawe By Abibu Shehu IbrahimĀ

The Muslim community of Owo Kingdom has announced plans for the final Fidau prayer in honour of the late Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Olagoke Aladesawe, who until his death was the Chief Imam of Owo, Chairman of the League of Imams and Alfas in Ondo State, and Secretary General of the League of Imams and Alfas in Southwest Nigeria, Edo and Delta States.

This was contained in a statement issued on behalf of the people of Owo and Ondo State, and jointly signed by Alhaji Jamiu Afolabi Ekungba, Baba Adini of Owo Kingdom, and Alhaji Sheikh Abdurauf Iwalesin, Naibul-Imam of Owo.

According to the statement, the family and Muslim faithful expressed appreciation to all who offered prayers, condolences, and attended the Janazah of the late spiritual leader.

ā€œYour attendance and participation in the interment of our father and leader means a lot to us. We pray that Allah rewards you abundantly for the honour done to us,ā€ the statement read.

The National Prayer (Fidau) Session has been scheduled for Saturday, 25th October 2025, at Ansar-Ud-Deen Comprehensive High School, Owo, beginning at 10 a.m.

The prayer will be led by the President General of the League of Imams and Alfas, Southwest, Edo and Delta States, Sheikh Jamiu Kewulere, who is also the Chief Imam of Ado Ekiti.

He will be assisted by the President Generals of Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria and Ansarul-Islam Society of Nigeria, alongside Muslim monarchs and scholars from across the Southwest.

The special national prayer is expected to attract prominent Imams, Muslim leaders, and faithful from all southwestern states as well as Edo and Delta.

The event will be hosted by the Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, with top government officials from the region expected in attendance.

The Muslim community prayed for Allah’s mercy on the departed cleric: ā€œMay Allah forgive our Baba, expand his grave, and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.ā€
